Day 26

We left Cortez, CO this morning, 57 degrees. We traveled until this afternoon. Went to the Cg Railroad to make reservations to ride the train to Pike's Peak tomorrow. Then we went to the Garden of the Gods, followed by the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. It's so hard to imagine people living like that. We got a motel about 10 minutes from the Railroad in Manitou Springs. Our driving for the most part of the day was on scenic routes again. Wonderful day. High temp, 93 this evening.

This is the world of the Anasazi. This is one of the most accessible examples of cliff dwelling architecture.

Some of the flowers at the Dwellings.

Oh Wow!! Did they do any Indian dances when you were at the cliff dwellings? We saw several of them when we were there. Very interesting! The Garden of the Gods were so interesting-such large rocks and the formations were something. Made me want to walk the paths again!! Sure hope your day at Pikes Peak is a clear day for you. Be careful when you go to the bathroom and bend over up that high!! :0)
