These were taken at the entrance to the Sequoia National Forest. What an interesting day. Windy road that you would not believe! We were up at least 7,000 feet. God's handiwork is soo awesome! You need to see it to really comprehend it. The Sequoias age: to 3,200, weight: to 2.7 million pounds, bark: to 31 inches thick, branches: to 8 feet diameter, bases: to 40 feet diameter. Had road work which held us up for 35 minutes, but gave us a chance to just sit and think about what we saw. We stopped in Visalina, CA and had Sears rotate the tires for us. We are in Tulare, CA for the night.

These were all seen on the General Sherman Trail.

This is the General Sherman Sequoia. It is the world's largest living tree.

It's hard to imagine how tall these trees are. They can reach a heigth of 311 ft.

The base of a tree that had fallen.

Richard coming through the Tunnel Log. This tree had fallen over, so they made a tunnel for autos.
