Day 6 of Our Travels

Remember to double click on the pictures to make them larger.

What a day to remember!! Left Gallup, Tx this morning-47 degreese. Still on 40W. Got to Arizona at 10:00 AM our time. As soon as you get into Arizona, you see the Painted Cliffs. Hopefully I'll get the pictures in order. Then we went into the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest. THIS IS A MUST SEE FOR ANYONE GOING WEST!!! Oh what beautiful counrty!! Words can't even begin to express it or the pictures don't really show it. Along the one place we saw some of the petroglyphs-Indian drawings. The coloring on the Painted desert is just unbelieviable! (If you can tell that we were impressed, you'r right) Then we saw the petrified forest. The wood is so unique. Logs laying everywhere. You just can't believe the way the wood gets to the stage that it is. After we left the Petrified Forest, we were on route 180N to Holbrook, then back to 40W. Out of Flagstaff, we could see snow on the mountain tops and the pine trees were back again. The terrain is always changing. Gas prices really vary. We are in Williams, Arizona. One place the gas is $3.99 and down the street it is $3.49. We are staying in Williams tonight. Tomorrow we will go to the Hoover Dam and then probably back here to Williams before we head to the Grand Canyon the following day. It is 8:20 our time and 5:20 their time. The sun is still way up. Well, time for pictures, enjoy
