This & That

Our tangerines and grapefruits will be ripe in a few weeks. Our orange tree didn't do anything this year.

I did some baking today. I did 2 loaves of Amish Friendship Bread and 7 dozen Raisin filled cookies.

Cook out with the Neighbors

We went to the cook out at the neighbors up the street from us. The first Saturday evening of each month, they invite neighbors and families to some kind of a cook out. Last night we had hot dogs to roast, homemade chili, I made some of Mary Emma's wonderful potatoe salad, watermelon, corn on the cob,and cake & ice cream. Billy, the one neighbor had a birthday. Wonderful evening. Waiting for next month:-)

Shuttle Discovery Blast off

Discovery lifted off last night-8/28/09 at 11:59 PM. What a beautiful sight across the river. I took this about 1/2 mile from our place. The night shots are ao beautiful. I wish the camera could've captured the total beauty.

Looks like a ball of fire in the sky.

Rainbows

The last two evenings we have rain and double rainbows. You need to look close to the right of the bright one for the double one. Rainbows have a special meaning to me.
